"O quel' lotta, delirio extrema" from Gluck's "Echo et Narcisse" was interpolated by Marie Delna at the end of Act I.
Review 1:
Review in the New York Times:
"...Mme. Delna made one change in her music. Instead of substituting the air 'Divinit?s du Styx,' from 'Alceste,' for the ineffective air that stands in the score at the end of the first act, as was done in the first performances, Mme Delna sang the air 'O quel' lotta, delirio extrema,' also from one Gluck's operas 'Echo et Narcisse.' The change is an improvement, for the music is more in the style of 'Orfeo' than the robust passionate apostrophe to the gods of the underworld, and hence preserves better a unity of effect."
