A complete performance of LES HUGUENOTS had been scheduled but Nilsson, the Valentine, was taken ill at the last moment. Only Acts II and III of Lucia di Lammermoor were performed

Review 1:

Review in the Herald:

METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE.

Owing to the indisposition of Mme. Nilsson, only the first act of "Les Huguenots" was given last evening , followed by the second, third, and fourth acts of "Lucia di Lammermoor" with Mme. Sembrich, Sig. Campanini and Sig. Del Puente in the cast. The announcement was made from the stage before the rising of the curtain, and willingness was expressed to return the money of those who did not wish to stay. This was the only alternative for Mr. Abbey, as he did not know of half dozen persons left the house. The performance of the parts of both operas was excellent. Sig. Campanini was a trifle hoarse, but most of his singing was full of the old-time sweetness, and his acting was admirable.
